EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

2018/19 was a busy, challenging as well as fulfilling year for Chinses Anti-Cancer Association Australia (CACA Australia).

To achieve our objectives, the past twelve months also saw the completion of a number of meaningful new projects, such as, understanding cancer series, cancer screening awareness.

We have set up a number of activities to build synergy and foster collaboration, such as setting up a WeChat group consisting of both professionals and community members where we regularly share up to date cancer related information, and provide relevant information related to cancer diagnosis and treatment to cancer patients’ family members.

Currently delivers a range of quality information and support services to the Chinese community in Sydney area. We are looking forward to the new partnership project with Local Health Districts (LHD) and aim to, in time, extend our outreach service to that regions as well.

Additionally, with the gracious help of our partner George Clinical, we held our first scientific seminar in September. The seminar was centered around comparing the cancer incidence rates amongst Chinese migrants in Australia with those Australian born, as well as the palliative care patterns among cancer patients with Chinese background in Australia.

Moving forward, we hope to improve the activities in creating collaborations with professionals and communities. We understand that the long-term sustainability and efficiency of these projects relies upon the pillars of frequent communication and effective cooperation among all of our valued members. We hope that you will join us on our journey.

We wish to express, once again, our appreciation to our supporters and sponsors who offered their services and financial assistance to CACA Australia over the year. Special mention must be made of our dedicated volunteers, who have had to endure an especially challenging twelve months. They have had to work under difficult conditions. We sincerely thank all of you for your diligence and commitment
